Power cord

Ningbo Zhenjia Electric Appliances Co., Ltd. has manufactured electrical connection products since 2006, and power cords remain the core of what we build. Our range covers connector-type cords, region-specific US, UK and EU assemblies, woven braid cables, extension cords, range and dryer cords, RV adapters and generator accessories, produced at our Ningbo base and at our 35,000 m² overseas plant in Cambodia.

We supply OEM and ODM power cords to appliance, lighting, power tool, IT and new-energy customers, with c(UL)us, ETL and CE safety certification and ISO 9001 quality management behind every shipment. As a Power cord manufacturer, we work from your drawings, samples or target specification rather than forcing a catalogue item.

Our Power Cord Range

Each sub-range answers a different plug standard, end-product category or mechanical requirement. The table below shows where each type fits and the main variables we confirm before quoting.

Range Typical Application Key Configuration Variables
Connector Type power cord IT equipment, monitors, power supplies, small appliances IEC C5/C7/C13/C14 mating, AWG, straight or right-angle, jacket colour
US Power Cord North American appliances, tools, lighting and electronics NEMA 1-15P / 5-15P / 5-20P, 2- or 3-prong, flat or angled plug, fuse option
Custom UK Power Cord Suppliers UK and Commonwealth-market appliances and equipment BS 1363 fused plug, cord grip, conductor size, cable length
EU Power Cord European appliances, lighting and industrial equipment CEE 7/7 or 7/16 plug, Schuko variants, H05VV-F / H03VVH2-F cable
Woven Braid Cables Decorative lighting, lamps and visible-cord consumer products Braid colour and material, core count, end termination, length

Connector-Type Cords for Equipment Builds

Connector-type cords are the most flexible part of our range because the appliance-side connector usually determines the build. We produce cords with C5, C7/C8, C13 and C14 terminations, in 18 AWG and heavier gauges, with straight or right-angle moulded plugs. Representative models include the ZJ-QT3 18 AWG NEMA 5-15P to C13 cord rated to 10 A 125 V, the ZJ-QT1 NEMA 5-15P to C5 cable, and the ZJ-ST2W two-prong cord for C7 or C8 inlets.

  • Conductor size selected against the rated current of the end product, not the plug alone.
  • Moulded strain relief geometry matched to the enclosure entry and cable exit direction.
  • Jacket compound, colour and surface finish chosen for the visible part of the assembly.
  • Waterproof overmoulded connector options for outdoor LED and deck lighting harnesses.

Regional Standards: US, UK and EU Builds

A single appliance platform often ships to several markets, so we build the same cord family against different plug standards. US cords use NEMA configurations such as 1-15P, 5-15P and 5-20P, with flat, angled or right-angle plugs and optional fusing. UK cords use the fused BS 1363 plug with the correct cord grip and conductor combination. EU cords use CEE 7/7 and related plug types with harmonised H05VV-F or H03VVH2-F cable.

For higher-current products, our Range And Dryer Cord range covers 3-wire and 4-wire 240 V appliance connections, and the Generator Power Cords & Accessories range covers twist-lock plugs, inlet boxes and generator wiring cable for portable power applications.

Materials, Ratings and Build Control

We operate our own granulation and processing plant, which means PVC and related compounds are prepared in-house and matched to the flexibility, temperature and appearance requirements of each cord. Copper conductors are sized to the declared current rating, and every moulded assembly is checked for continuity, polarity and insulation integrity before packing.

  • Rated voltage and current stated per market: 125 V / 15 A class for US builds, 250 V class for EU and UK builds.
  • Conductor counts from 2-core to 4-core, with or without earth.
  • Cable lengths from short equipment jumpers to long extension assemblies.
  • Optional fuses, switches, indicator lamps and overmoulded boots.

Quality Assurance and Certification

Our factory operates under the ISO 9001 Quality Management System, and our power cords and adapters carry c(UL)us certification, with ETL and CE alignment across the wider product programme. Our in-house testing laboratory and inspection equipment support routine electrical and dimensional checks, and we retain compliance documentation for the configurations we produce.

For projects that require acceptance testing, we agree the inspection points with you before production: incoming conductor and compound checks, in-process moulding inspection, and final 100% electrical testing on finished cords. Where a customer needs third-party verification, we coordinate with the nominated testing body.

OEM/ODM Customization

Our R&D team develops and produces cords from customer drawings or physical samples. Typical customization work includes new moulded plug geometry, custom cable lengths and colours, printed or embossed branding on the plug body, and packaging that carries your part number and barcode.

  • Sample-based development: send a working sample and we reverse-engineer the assembly.
  • Drawing-based development: send a 2D drawing with tolerances and we build to it.
  • Private labelling: plug marking, cable printing and retail packaging under your brand.
  • Multi-market kits: one product family, several regional cord variants in one shipment.

Information We Use to Configure Your Solution

A workable quotation needs the electrical and mechanical facts of the application. The checklist below is what our engineers use to select the plug, cable and termination combination.

Input Why We Need It
Destination market and plug standard Determines NEMA, BS 1363 or CEE plug family and certification route
Rated voltage, current and load type Sets conductor gauge, insulation class and fuse requirement
Appliance-side connector and inlet Fixes the mating interface, e.g. C5, C7, C13 or open end
Cable length, colour and jacket material Controls voltage drop, flexibility and visible appearance
Annual volume and packaging format Drives tooling, carton design and delivery scheduling

Manufacturing, Documentation and Delivery

Production runs across our Ningbo facility and our Cambodia plant, both operating to the same quality system, which gives customers a consistent product regardless of origin. We supply product manuals and installation guidance with the shipment, and we keep spare-part and replacement-cord programmes open for the life of the tooling.

Packaging is agreed per order: bulk cartons, poly-bagged cords, or retail-ready packs with your artwork. We confirm carton dimensions, pallet configuration and shipping marks before the first production run so that receiving and warehousing are straightforward.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you produce power cords to our own drawing or sample?

Yes. Our R&D team develops and produces cords from customer drawings or physical samples, including custom plug geometry, cable length, colour and branding. Send the drawing or sample with the target market and volume, and we will confirm the build and tooling requirements.

Which certifications apply to your power cords?

Our power cords and adapters carry c(UL)us certification, and our wider programme aligns with ETL and CE requirements. Our factory operates under ISO 9001. Certification scope depends on the specific plug and cable configuration, so we confirm the applicable certificate for your build during quotation.

Do you supply cords for both 125 V and 250 V markets?

Yes. We build US cords for 125 V NEMA configurations, and UK and EU cords for 250 V systems, including fused BS 1363 plugs and CEE 7/7 plugs. The conductor gauge and insulation are selected against the declared current rating of your product.

How do you handle quality inspection before shipment?

We run incoming material checks, in-process moulding inspection and 100% electrical testing on finished cords in our own testing laboratory. Inspection points and acceptance criteria can be agreed with you before production, and third-party verification can be arranged where required.

Can one order include several regional cord variants?

Yes. Multi-market kits are common for appliance and lighting customers, combining US, UK and EU cord variants of the same product family in one shipment. We manage the variant labelling and packaging so each market receives the correct cord.

What is the minimum information needed for a quotation?

Destination market, rated voltage and current, appliance-side connector, cable length and colour, annual volume and packaging format. With those details we can select the plug and cable combination, confirm certification scope and prepare a quotation.
